What is the best age for a newborn photo session?
the ideal age for newborn photo sessions is from 5-12 days old. But I do also offer fresh 48 photo sessions done at the hospital.
When should I have my newborn's pictures taken?
booking your session at the beginning of your pregnancy helps ensure the photographer is available after the birth of your baby. Call to schedule your session when baby has come, and you are back home.
How long does a newborn photoshoot take?
Newborn photography sessions tend to take longer than a normal photoshoot as we are all on baby's time not ours. However, they typically run about 3-4 hours depending on how cranky baby is.
What should I have ready for my newborn photo session?
I bring everything I'll need with me, my newborn photo sessions are done in home, I bring all the baskets, buckets wraps and probs I'll need to capture all the sweet little moments of your new little baby. If you have something special, you'd like to include in your images, make sure to have it handy the day of shoot so it can be included. Examples of that could be a handmade blanket, name plates, a parent's uniform, or mom's wedding vail.
Are parents/siblings included in the newborn photography session?
Absolutely! All family including fur siblings. Depending on the age of our siblings sometimes it's best that we get those family images done so everyone is happy and able to go along their way shortly after while I "play" with the new baby.
Can I choose colors or themes for my baby's portraits?
Of course, you can, in our booking call we'll go over some of the color options that I have that will match best in your home, but I usually bring a bucket full of color options with me.
Best time of day for newborn photoshoot?
I usually book newborn sessions during the am hours but if we have older sibling's schedules to work around of course I'm always pretty flexible. However, we do have to consider times that we'll have the best natural light coming into the home.
What should the family wear to a newborn photoshoot?
Family members should stick to neutral colors and light patterns that blend well in your home. We'll wrap baby in a solid color that blends with the outfits of the family.
